This old crater lake is half covered by water plants and is often shrouded by misty clouds. Mornings are the best time to go up to the peak as the clouds build up on the high peaks as the day progresses.Special Features of TaveuniThe 180 degree meridian passes right through Taveuni island - one of the few places on earth where the meridian passes over land. Before the creation of the International Dateline (which detours to the east of Fiji), the people of Taveuni would be able to go from one day to the next by a single step!
